Giuseppe Cocchini directed the Nuova Stamperia all’insegna della Stella—the New Printing House at the Sign of the Star—during one of Florence’s most consequential periods of scientific publishing.
Its books place the family name inside the world of the Medici court and the Galilean tradition: the Accademia del Cimento, Francesco Redi, Vincenzo Viviani, Carlo Rinaldini, Niels Stensen, and Robert Dudley.
This is the Cocchini family’s own working archive of that legacy. Every attribution is labelled by the strength of its evidence; uncertain and rejected records remain visible only where they illuminate the audit trail.
